About Me
Hi, my name is Shelbylynn Rioux. I am a dedicated and compassionate clinician who is passionate about creating safe and supportive spaces where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges and strengths. My practice is grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches, providing personalized care that honours each client’s individual needs and aspirations.
At the core of my approach is a strong belief in the strength and resilience of every individual. By fostering a collaborative and client-centered environment, I support individuals, couples, and families in achieving meaningful growth and healing. Whether addressing trauma, improving relationships, or supporting mental health, my holistic approach ensures that every client feels heard, valued, and supported.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, going on outings, and diving into home renovation projects.
Education & Experience
I completed my Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work (BISW) degree at Laurentian University. I have received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), along with additional training in Play Therapy, Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), Theraplay (Level 1), Integrative Sex Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Coaching (BSFC), ADHD and Complex Trauma, Crisis Intervention, RedPath: Living Without Violence, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
These modalities and experiences equip me with the tools to support clients navigating a wide range of emotional, relational, behavioural, and trauma-related challenges.
