About Me
I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor with almost 10 years of counseling experience (and 7 years providing EMDR therapy) whose passion for working with trauma survivors (especially those who have experienced complex trauma) was born from years of experience in both community mental health centers and private practice settings. I have a combined 10 years of experience providing individual counseling using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques and, more recently (as a trained EMDR therapist since 2016 and as a certified EMDR therapist since 2019) using EMDR therapy interventions, to those who have been wounded via trauma experiences, such as: sexual assault, traumatic loss of a loved one, childhood abuse and domestic violence. I also have experience counseling children and adolescents who present with behavioral issues and love to help parents to improve their relationships and build stronger connections with their children. I am one of a few bilingual EMDR certified therapists in Texas.
Education & Experience
I received my Bachelor's degrees in English and Psychology (with a minor in Spanish) at Southern Methodist University and my Masters in Counseling at Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, TX.
