About Me
I believe that we are all wired towards growth. Sometimes life's events, our environment or circumstances get in the way of us accessing our inner resources and realizing our potential. Adverse life experiences can lead to symptoms that may have been necessary at one time to help us survive, but get in the way as our circumstances change. Together we can work to identify and work through barriers to peace and contentment. I bring a wealth of experience and training in several evidence-based treatment models. However, I understand the importance of tailoring therapeutic techniques to the unique needs of each individual. I approach each individual with cultural humility and openness, and recognize that starting therapy or working with a new provider can be very difficult. I work hard to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can increase self-awareness, build on individual strengths and wisdom, and develop resources needed to create change.
Education & Experience
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor practicing in Maryland. I have experience working in residential treatment facilities for children, intensive outpatient programs, community mental health focused on treating trauma and a broad range of issues including developmental trauma in private practice. I am fluent in Farsi.
