About Me

I am a passionate and experienced social worker with over 20 years in the social services field, where I’ve had the privilege of cultivating an exciting and deeply meaningful career. My journey has taken me through a wide range of roles—including child welfare, advocacy, healthcare, teaching, consulting, psychotherapy, and clinical counselling. I’ve worked on the frontlines supporting children and families, led initiatives to advance equity in healthcare systems, taught and mentored emerging professionals, and provided therapeutic support to individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. Each role has enriched my understanding of the human experience and strengthened my commitment to justice, healing, and empowerment—especially within Black communities.

As a proud member of the Black community, I bring a culturally affirming, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive lens to everything I do. My therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and cultural humility. I strive to create inclusive, safe, and non-judgmental spaces where healing and transformation can take place. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Narrative Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Solution-Focused Therapy—always tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs and strengths of each individual.
