Mrs. Tanya Ramackers, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW
(She/Her)
About Me
Tanya completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wilfred Laurier University and went on to pursue a post-graduate degree in Social Work at the University of Waterloo in 2016, where she became a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. After graduation, Tanya worked in a number of diverse settings, including community-based addiction counseling, domestic violence, and supporting women and children survivors of sexual violence. In 2019 Tanya returned to school to complete her Masters of Social Work at the University of Waterloo, with a special interest in Trauma and Health. Tanya understands that life can feel too intense sometimes and that our minds and bodies can feel as though they are no longer connected. Psychotherapy can be a powerful way to work through those intense sensations or numbing moments when we can’t see a way forward- when we feel stuck, lost, alone or disconnected. Tanya takes a holistic approach to mental health and gracefully holds space between providing non-judgmental support and practical skills to help you overcome such issues as trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, and stress.
Education & Experience
Tanya has completed trainings in Cognitive Process Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Birth and Reproductive Trauma and CBT and holds a particular interest in somatic-based psychotherapy. She draws from her own experiences to help you through life’s often unpredictable challenges.
