About Me
I am a body-oriented therapist with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have found that thinking our way better has a poor success rate. Our bodies hold stories that sometimes are difficult to tolerate. Therapy is an experience we create together with an invitation towards health. I hold the nonjudgmental space for us.
Education & Experience
After working as a clinical social worker in an inpatient setting, I felt I needed to take a deep dive into research about trauma and the effects on the whole person. Completing a Doctor Social Work degree provided a platform for this research, much of which centered around the neurobiology of trauma. Since then, I have used what I learned with people holding different traumatic experiences. After becoming certified in EMDR, I continued training to use EMDR with specific populations, including Complex PTSD (Attachment-Focused EMDR, EMDR Therapy Protocols for Early Intervention & Ongoing Traumatic Stress), veterans, chronic pain, groups (EMDR Integrative Group Treatment Protocol), and intensives (individual/group).
