About Me
I wasn’t always a therapist; I was formerly a business lawyer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, I had a satisfying career as a partner in two law firms as well as in teaching law at Loyola Law School. The catalyst for my transition from a lawyer to a therapist was the seven years I volunteered as a chaplain at Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles.
Education & Experience
Through counseling individual inmates and facilitating groups at Men's Central Jail, I refined the listening skills I developed as a lawyer, business adviser, and teacher. Reaching people at a deep level and seeing the unique qualities of every person, I appreciate the value of a strong therapeutic relationship in connecting with a person. After attending UCLA as an undergrad, I received law degrees from Georgetown University and New York University. Years later, I graduated from Antioch University with a master’s degree in clinical psychology, and currently practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Culver and Pasadena. Besides in person, I conduct sessions by telehealth.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am a volunteer therapist at Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles and see former gang members and incarcerated individuals.
