About Me
You may understand why you struggle and still find yourself feeling anxious, shut down, overly responsible, disconnected, or unable to trust yourself or others. I view these patterns not as signs that something is wrong with you, but as adaptive responses developed by the nervous system to protect you from experiences that once felt overwhelming or unsafe.
My role is not to suppress these protective responses, but to help you understand them with curiosity and compassion. By recognizing the purpose behind these patterns, we can begin to create the safety needed for change and growth.
EMDR is one of the primary tools I use to support this process. Rather than focusing only on talking about past events, EMDR helps the brain and nervous system process experiences that may still be influencing your present life. I also incorporate attachment-based, polyvagal-informed, and somatic approaches because healing often requires more than insight; it involves helping the body learn that the present is different from the past.
Clients often describe feeling deeply understood without feeling judged, pressured, or hurried. Our work is collaborative, curious, and paced according to your nervous system’s capacity rather than a fixed timeline. The goal is to support a greater sense of internal safety so that you have more choice, flexibility, and connection in your life.
Over time, I hope you come to see yourself differently—not as broken, but as someone whose mind and body adapted intelligently to survive. From that perspective, healing can become less about forcing change and more about building a life rooted in the present rather than driven by the past.
If this way of understanding healing resonates with you, you are welcome to reach out to explore whether working together may be a good fit.
Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois and an EMDRIA Certified Therapist specializing in trauma, attachment wounds, and nervous system dysregulation. My clinical approach integrates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy with attachment-based, polyvagal-informed, and somatic approaches.
In addition to EMDRIA Certification, I pursue advanced training in attachment-focused and somatic applications of EMDR. My work is also informed by Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, the Safe and Sound Protocol, the Rest and Restore Protocol, and the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model.
I work primarily with adults whose current struggles are connected to developmental and relational trauma. Common concerns include chronic anxiety, functional freeze, perfectionism, people-pleasing, difficulty with emotional intimacy, and challenges trusting themselves or others.
I help clients understand the protective purpose of these patterns while using EMDR and nervous-system-informed approaches to process experiences that continue to shape the present.
