About Me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who lives in Amarillo, Texas. I am the owner of The Helping Heart Counseling Center, PLLC and licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama and North Carolina. I consider it a blessing to have been raised in the rural community of Canadian Texas. After graduation, I moved to Lubbock, Texas and attended Texas Tech University where I obtained a degree in Family Studies and Human Development and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Before becoming a therapist, I served over eleven years as an executive director for a non-profit agency and have extensive training in marital counseling and corporate leadership. I have been trained in both EMDR and the EMDR Flash Method. My desire is to help couples enrich their marriage. Although marital counseling is one of my passions, I enjoy working with individuals including older adolescents and adults, families and corporate leaders. Much of my practice is focused on helping individuals balance work, family, and life. Being an EMDR therapist has strengthened my practice as I work with individuals dealing with anxiety, stress, fears, PTSD, and complex trauma.
