About Me

As an EMDR Psychotherapist I work from a humanistic approach to help people enhance their inner strengths and motivation to make desired changes in their lives. I help people recognize how their past experiences might be affecting them negatively in the present and use a variety of strategies to help people move forward to becoming their best selves. As a relational therapist my client’s feedback on our relationship and their progress on their therapy goals is central to the work. EMDR Consultation In my EMDR practice I specialize in treating clients with attachment issues and complex PTSD using a relational approach. I help my consultees hone their relational skills and improve their AIP-informed treatment planning to motivate their most challenging clients to approach the difficult, needed work to achieve deep, lasting change. Prior to getting trained in EMDR by Deany Laliotis and Dan Merlis, I received training in MI as well as a variety of trauma-informed approaches and, over a period of 15 years, worked in a variety of settings including long-term supportive housing, homelessness services, victim services, and school-based mental health services. I am an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and provide online case consultation to individuals and groups who wish to strengthen their skills in EMDR or seek EMDRIA Certification. Consultation is $150 for 60 minutes or $405 for a package of three 60 minute meetings.

Education & Experience

My past fifteen years were spent working in various roles within the human services field starting with case management for chronically mentally ill and homeless adults and slowly shifting to work as a therapist in a variety of settings including primary healthcare, victims service centers, homeless shelter, school-based mental health in middle/high schools around the Pittsburgh area, and, most recently, private practice . In these various roles I’ve provided counseling to help people explore/ manage anxiety, LGBT/ identity-related issues, depression, substance abuse recovery, trauma-related issues (like PTSD), adjustment disorders, and grief.
