Approved for 9 EMDRIA Credits

This advanced workshop moves from the “Why”—historical harm, systemic barriers, and neurodivergent experiences—to the “How” of individualized EMDR practice. Participants will examine how ableism, chronic invalidation, communication and sensory differences, and neuro-normative expectations may shape trauma among autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD clients. This framework will be applied to masking, mono-tropism, persistent demand for autonomy (PDA), autistic burnout, and complex trauma. Through reflection, discussion, case examples, and experiential activities, participants will develop collaborative adaptations involving case conceptualization, target selection, bilateral stimulation, cognitive interweaves, pacing, and target-sequencing planning.

Presenter: Christine MacInnis, LMFT
