This advanced clinical training is designed for EMDR therapists and trauma-informed mental health professionals working with older adults experiencing mild to moderate neurocognitive decline. The seminar explores the critical clinical decision point at which standard EMDR protocol no longer aligns with the patient’s cognitive, emotional, and neurological capacity. Participants will learn how to identify markers that indicate when the traditional protocol is no longer appropriate, how dementia subtype and stage influence treatment fit, and how to modify interventions based on preserved abilities rather than model loyalty.
