There is a great deal of evidence supporting that people struggle with self-limiting thoughts and other constraints when they do not have secure connections with others. The goal of Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, (EFIT) is to help clients slow their reactions and experience a corrective emotional response. In this advanced workshop, attachment and the distress people feel when emotionally vulnerable are taught. EFIT stabilization and the moves of the Tango are practiced. Body based EMDR is woven into the steps of EFIT when attachment trauma is re-experienced, allowing corrective emotional experiences to more readily occur.
