Approved for 3 EMDRIA Credits
This program – which is part of a 4 day summit in Costa Rica – is broken up into two segments. Segment 1 is an introduction into EMDR presentation titled: How EMDR helps heal adversity and a review of how EMDR is effective in treating trauma. Specifically, participants will learn that EMDR and the underlying AIP theory is a specialized therapy for trauma, life adversity and PTSD and other mental health challenges. Participants will learn how dual attention, bilateral stimulation, helps process distressing memories, mitigating their distressing psychological effects. EMDR specifically aids in desensitizing emotional trauma and re-associating memories with adaptive insights, fostering enhanced healing and resilience. Segment 2 allows retreat participants to participate in a facilitated group EMDR experience. This segment allows participants to gain experience with the group EMDR protocol. The group will use the protocol to process a distressing experience, leveraging group processes for shared healing experiences, fostering enhanced resilience and collective support.
