Approved for 3 EMDRIA Credits

Clinicians already bring the natural world into EMDR, a stone held during a calm-place exercise, a window view during stabilization, a client who settles more easily walking than seated. This workshop brings clinical discipline to that instinct. It examines how environmental context, sensory grounding, and ecologically informed interventions can support case conceptualization, preparation, affect regulation, and integration without altering the eight-phase, three-pronged protocol or the Adaptive Information Processing model. The course does not propose a new protocol or a modification of EMDR. Participants review the empirical foundations of nature-informed work, develop criteria for clinical appropriateness, and apply ethical decision-making to common case scenarios, with particular attention to contraindications, dissociation risk, accessibility, privacy, informed consent, documentation, and scope of practice.
