Approved for 10 EMDRIA Credits
In EMDR basic training, we are taught the fundamental of the AIP Model and how to execute EMDR standard protocol. We are also told that we will need advanced trainings to better understand and work with more complex or specialized populations. This course is designed for EMDR clinicians who want to find more ways to work within the AIP Model and EMDR for clients who lack the capacity to tolerate standard EMDR protocol. It will describe the practical neuroscience of our natural trauma response and polyvagal theory as they relate to the AIP model and EMDR protocol. The clinical interventions taught, will focus on how to be nervous system informed and person centered in how move through the phases while always maintaining somatic awareness. Participants will be encouraged and empowered to show up in sessions using their own nervous systems as a guide to facilitate tolerable work for their clients.
