Approved for 20 EMDRIA Credits

This course (November 6, 13 & 20, 2026) applies IFS strategies as part of the standard EMDR protocol. PF-EMDR is for clients with complex trauma who are better able to target parts of the self rather than root memories. This protocol introduces a meeting place in the preparation phase, a parts-focus in the assessment phase, multiple interweaves to assist in parts processing during the desensitization phase, and directions to complete phases in the standard EMDR protocol as outlined in EMDR standard protocol. Emphasis is placed on the safety of the client through PF-EMDR. A background into IFS theory is introduced as an overview of EMDR therapy prior to outlining how elements of IFS and parts theory are applied in the standard EMDR protocol throughout the 8 phases.

Presenter: Jason Johnson, LCSW
