Approved for 9 EMDRIA Credits
Research supports the premise that working to heal the harm from trauma and adversity experienced by children necessitates comprehensive work with the family system. This workshop will help clinicians to conceptualize targets for EMDR processing while mobilizing caregivers as agents in the child’s healing. The course (August 20 & September 2, 2026) will look at increasing the caregivers’ reflective capacity through family-oriented play therapy activities, preparing caregivers to participate in attachment repair using EMDR and examples of how EMDR processing looks with caregivers in the room in support of clients of different ages and stages of development and how to incorporate parents and caregivers as powerful storytellers and supporters of their child’s healing through attachment repair in a variety of clinical presentations and situations including foster care and adoption.
Presenters: Annie Monaco, LCSW & Ann Beckley-Forest, LCSW
