Approved for 12 EMDRIA Credits
Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR expands the AIP, Adaptive Information Processing Model, to include adaptations made to maximize safety and attachment. This program will go deeply into the SAFE foundational principles of Nonviolence, Mindful Awareness, Compassionate Assumption and Healthy Boundaries and how they create a trauma-informed therapeutic container and inform the resourcing phase of EMDR treatment. Informed by the Polyvagal theory of regulation, you will have an opportunity to learn and experience resources for safety and connection. We will review new research on the neurobiological mechanisms of eye movements to help deepen your understanding of why and how EMDR works. We will explore the SAFE EMDR concept of the Answer and how to apply it throughout the EMDR 8 phases of therapy, while maintaining fidelity to the EMDR model.
