Approved for 6 EMDRIA Credits

Adaptations of EMDR for neurodivergent clients have become increasingly important as clinicians recognize the need to tailor treatment to meet these clients’ unique needs. Research indicates that neurodivergent individuals experience higher rates of trauma than the general population, highlighting the importance of accessible and effective EMDR interventions. This interactive webinar will provide an overview of the development of neurodiversity-affirming EMDR, explore factors that support engagement and effectiveness across different neurotypes, and offer detailed guidance on adaptations that maintain fidelity to the EMDR model. Participants will expand their clinical skill set through didactic instruction, video demonstrations, case conceptualization, and guided experiential and application based activities, supporting their ability to apply these strategies in clinical practice with neurodivergent clients.

Presenter: Christine MacInnis, LMFT
