This EMDR Basic Training  is for professionals interested in providing EMDR Therapy to Bilingual clients (Spanish-English). The didactic sessions will be facilitated in English and taught by a native Spanish speaker. Language assistance around translations and saying will be provided throughout the training as well. The trainees will have the option to practice EMDR therapy in Spanish, English, and even Spanglish.  This training may be a good option for non-native-Spanish-speaking therapists who would like to be more culturally sensitive and improve their service to Spanish-speaking clients.

TRAINING OVERVIEW

This EMDR Basic Training is designed for licensed mental health professionals who work in a clinical setting. The training meets EMDRIA requirements and includes lecture, live demonstrations, videotaped demonstrations and supervised practice.

The EMDR training covers the basics of trauma, the adaptive information processing model, trauma informed stabilization, the basic methodology and mechanisms of action used in EMDR therapy, and enhanced practicum content covering best practices for using EMDR therapy with special populations in the tricky scenarios of clinical practice. Advanced content on ethics and neurobiology is also covered, in addition to working with the art of case conceptualization.
