This training teaches participants how to assess for dissociation and subclinical dissociation and discusses appropriate interventions to counteract dissociative processes, using the present moment, that could interfere with effective EMDR treatment. Working with individuals who are struggling with trauma and dissociation can present challenges during the reprocessing phases of EMDR. This workshop teaches participants how to assess subclinical dissociation and how to use interventions to counteract dissociation. Participants will learn how to integrate information gathered from the assessment of the dissociative process to conceptualize treatment planning. Participants will practice interventions in breakout dyads during the workshop.
