Arts-Informed EMDR: A Continuum of Resourcing Practices from Bilateral Artmaking to Visual Journaling
Art therapy as a profession is suited for integration with EMDR therapy as it fits well within the 3-prong, 8-phase approach. The article focuses specifically on Phase 2: Preparation and Stabilization from five EMDR therapists, who are trained art therapists and have successfully integrated art therapy practices into their approach to EMDR. This article exemplifies a resourcing approach, beginning with an introduction to bilateral movement and artmaking and five case examples demonstrating a continuum of resourcing arts-based practices.
