Much of what we know about PTSD originated during wartime. Veteran PTSD is now treated primarily in the Veterans Affairs (VA) Mental Health Services and other veteran service organizations (VSOs). Two of this article’s authors founded The Headstrong Project, a clinical treatment program using EMDR to treat veteran PTSD, including military sexual trauma, in post 9/11 veterans.
