Timothy D. Vermillion, DSW, M.Ed, LCSW, BCD
A seasoned professional in the field of behavioral health, Dr. Vermillion brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the EMDRIA board. An Iraq War veteran with over 24 years of military service, Tim began his military career as a medic. This role laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to health, mental health, and well-being. He continues to serve in the NJ Army National Guard as a Behavioral Service Officer with the rank of major.
With a diverse academic background encompassing social work, adult and continuing education, and digital marketing, he possesses a unique blend of skills that enriches his approach to therapy and education. Holding a Doctor of Social Work (DSW), he honed his expertise in various therapeutic techniques, specializing in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Dr. Vermillion’s journey in EMDR therapy is not just professional but also deeply personal. As an approved EMDR Trainer™, EMDR Consultant™, and EMDRIA board member, he is dedicated to advancing the practice and accessibility of EMDR therapy. His experience as a supervisor and therapist within the Veterans Affairs Administration underscores his commitment to supporting those who have served our country.
His vision for his tenure on the board includes expanding access to EMDR training, advocating for research in the field, and fostering a community of practitioners dedicated to the highest standards of client care.
