What can EMDR offer people living with dementia and their carers?
This article dives into types of dementia, whether EMDR can benefit people with dementia, and how EMDR can support family and carers.
Article Abstract
“There are different subtypes of dementia… and each subtype has a specific neuropsychological profile of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) that pose unique challenges to families, carers and care staff. We considered each subtype and whether EMDR can benefit people with dementia. We also considered how EMDR can support family, carers and care staff to manage these symptoms.”
