Editorial retraction

An editorial retraction notice.

Abstract

“In Volume 19 (2025), Journal of EMDR Practice and Research published the article “Developing a Culturally and Methodologically Adapted Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy Protocol for Major Depressive Disorder in Pakistan” by Anwar Khan and Amalia bt Madihie. This article was published as one phase of a multi-stage research project conducted within a single doctoral program. Following concerns raised during editorial review of related submissions, the editors initiated a post-publication review that encompassed the full research program, of which this article is one component. Some of the issues that emerged from this review were not apparent from the published article itself yet bear directly on the reliability of the work reported. Taken together, these concerns undermine the editors’ confidence in the reliability of the article: deficiencies in the disclosure of relevant conflicts of interest and related publications, inaccuracies in ethical and regulatory reporting relating to research involving human participants, discrepancies in external research registration and reporting records, and concerns regarding the integrity and consistency of the research record supporting the study. Collectively, these concerns undermine the editors’ confidence in the reliability of the article. The editors of Journal of EMDR Practice and Research have therefore decided to retract the article.
