Book Review: EMDR Therapy and Somatic Psychology: Interventions to Enhance Embodiment in Trauma Treatment
Book review of “EMDR Therapy and Somatic Psychology: Interventions to Enhance Embodiment in Trauma Treatment” by Arielle Schwartz and Barb Maiberger.
Article Abstract
“The recent release by Schwartz and Maiberger is a comprehensive somatic primer for beginner and experienced EMDR Therapy clinicians. This offering begins with a complete yet brief overview of the eight-phased protocol and then introduces somatic theory. Even with the addition of somatic theory, the authors adhere to the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, which makes the practical suggestions completely compatible and transferrable for all EMDR therapists.”
