About Me
I am a licensed professional counselor, and have worked as a family psychotherapist since 1996. I earned a Master’s degree from the University of North Texas in Counseling and studied under the world-famous play therapist Dr. Garry Landreth. During the first 10 years of my career, I primarily used Play Therapy, “Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,” and “Child Parent Relationship Therapy” groups to help children and families affected by domestic violence, abuse, depression and addiction issues. After serving in the United States Air Force as an officer assigned to various behavioral scientist positions, I returned to school for post-graduate marriage and family therapy training to gain more skills to help families struggling with trauma, early childhood attachment and other unresolved childhood issues. After 9 years of telehealth counseling on depression, anxiety, diabetes, and addiction issues for a major American insurance company, I came to Israel in pursuit of certification in two evidence-based trauma treatment therapies – Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
