About Me

Jamie is a Licensed Professional Counselor that has been privileged to journey with people in the D/FW area since 2016. Jamie’s passion and primary area of focus has been trauma therapy. Highly impacted by professor and mentor, Linda Marten, PhD, LPC-S, Jamie had the opportunity to attend the International Trauma Conference where she learned under Bessel Van der Kolk (The Body Keeps the Score) and Richard Schwartz (IFS) and considers it an honor to work and serve under such professional stalwarts. Jamie resides in the Dallas area with her husband (1999) and their 2 children. She enjoys classical music, time with her family, and coffee with friends. She also loves finding things that others might throw away and make them into pieces of beauty.

Education & Experience

Jamie graduated with a Bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Florida in 1999. After working as a cardiothoracic intensive care nurse with the Veteran’s Administration, Jamie made the decision to transition from caring for people’s physical well-being to nurturing their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. She earned her Master's in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, where, in addition to earning high honors, she was humbled to receive the award for Excellence in Biblical Counseling award. Jamie is EMDRIA trained in EMDR therapy (certification in progress to be completed 9/2021) in addition to Post-Induction Therapy (PIT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, and DBT. In addition to seeing clients in the office setting, Jamie also works with The Meadows Intensive Outpatient Program, located in North Dallas. Jamie’s personal philosophy includes providing an environment of acceptance and empathy, seeing herself as an equal partner with the client to guide their process of growth and change. Jamie finds tremendous value in the story of every person's life and considers it a gift and blessing to be a part of someone's journey.
